Hello
I configured the server name including the http:// service. Actually the steps I did to install the SUS were the following:
1.- In a 2003 DC running IIS 6.0 I installed the SUS SP1 and it installed all the folder and files needed. This includes the administrative web page http://server/susadmin. This step do not modify my initial configuration and we still have acces to our intranet web pages.
2.- Using the susadmin web page I configured the server to get access to the internet using our proxy server.
3.- Next I went to the domain and update the policies related to windows update.
4.- After that, I checked in some workstations the registry to check that the policie update was propagated to the workstations and they where. (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SOftware / Policies / Microsoft / Windows / windows update)
4.- The next morning I found 207 patches ready to be approved.
5.- I approved all the 207 patches.
Then, I thought to start seeing some workstations retrieving information from the SUS server, but that never happens.
>From any workstation I can access the SUS Administrative Webpage after logon. For that reason I'm discarding any posible problem of access from the workstations to the SUS server
Thanks a lot for take your time to answer this issue
