Hello David,

Thank you for your reply.

It is a complex work to find the bottleneck in a intranet. The bottleneck
could be all kinds of devices in your intranet, such as switch, cable,
server etc. You could use Performance Monitoring Utility to monitor the
performance.

For more information you may browse the following web site:

Overview of Performance Monitoring

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to let me
know. I am happy to be of assistance.
Thanks and regards,
Alex Zhang

| Hello Alex,
|
| Thank you for your reply. I always learn something when posting to this
| site, thanks much.
|
| I have a request for advice: You state that based on your experience the
NIC
| should not be the bottleneck in the system. Given the following scenario
| what would you recommend?
|
| 120 Engineers working with large modeling and CADD files.
| One File server with a large raid array.
| The engineers will access the server at the same time upon arrival in the
| morning and upon departure in the evening.
|
| It is my asumption that performance would take a significant hit at these
| peak usage times and that this could be attributed to all this data trying
| to traverse the NIC within the same time period. If this assumption is
false
| then great! I have nothing to worry about.
|
| Thanks,
| David
