DNS Forwarder Issues

When I do an nslookup from 1 domain to another (any host - 2 separate
forests - Win2K3 environments), I'm getting a 'DNS request timed out'
response. I can ping and tracert between hosts fine. I have DNS Forwarders
set up, and verified. Going in one direction, I'm fine with nslookups. But
going the other, it times out. The DNS event viewer is showing no errors,
I've restarted the service and cleared cache. When doing the nslookup, the
correct server name (DNS server) and IP are listed.
As a temporary workaround on a host, I added a secondary reference to the
other domain - which provides me with a favorable nslookup result. This tells
me that nothing is blocking DNS traffic between the 2 domains, right? Once I
remove the secondary reference, the NSlookup fails.
Any troubleshooting ideas?
Thx. - John
