Re: DNS lists multiple PTRs for IP addresses

Hello Bill,

You can enable/configure scavenging on the server/zones to remove older entries after a while. The multiple names for one address can occur if a client just power down the machine instead of shutting down.

Windows Server 2003 R2 - DNS lists multiple names in the data field
for a single address. This is in numerous instances. Obviously
something isn't right. Any thoughts on where to start is appreciated.
