RE: Getting my DNS to resolve a web site

It did do the trick, unfortunately I figured it out right before you posted.

However, I noticed it won't resolve www.database.mw when I do the same
thing. How do I set it up with the www extension?

Hi,

Add a new forward lookup zone on your DNS Server. The zone should be named
database.mw

In the zone, create a new 'A' record, but don't specify a name... simply
secify the IP Address: 192.168.1.105 in the address field. That should do
the trick i think.

Okay, I have an apache web server set up on an internal network. On this
server is an database service I run. The server's internal address is
192.168.1.105. Users should be able to access the database by typing
http://database.mw into their web browsers

Now I have a 2003 DNS/DHCP server. It sends a DNS address to every computer
that logs into the network.

How do I get it to where when a client computer types http://database.mw
into a web browser it will translate that into 192.168.1.105? I can get to
the database page just fine by typing in the IP, but I need some name
resolution.
