tracert returns: "Unable to resolve target system namewww.sun.com"
OK, let's find out who is telling your DNS it is no existent.
Check the answers from the commands and post exactly what the answers are.
Run these.
1. nslookup -qtype=ns sun.com <IPAddressofLocalDNS>
2. nslookup -d2www.sun.com
1. should be:
W:\>nslookup -qtype=ns sun.com 192.168.201.13
Server: dc01.office.wftx.us
Address: 192.168.201.13
Non-authoritative answer:
sun.com nameserver = ns1.sun.com
sun.com nameserver = ns2.sun.com
sun.com nameserver = ns7.sun.com
sun.com nameserver = ns8.sun.com
ns1.sun.com internet address = 192.18.128.11
ns2.sun.com internet address = 192.18.99.5
ns7.sun.com internet address = 192.18.43.15
ns8.sun.com internet address = 192.18.43.12
2. Should have this in the final answer after it goes through the DNS Suffix
search list.
