I have a site site vpn connection stablished with another company, we
are running windows 2003 server in an separate forest and diferent
domain name. One of the domains is called Domain1 and the Other is
Domain2. on Domain1 DNS Server we created an DNS forwaders and
specify domain2 with the corresponding ip address, on domain2 we
created a forward dns and specify domain1 with the corresponding ip
address. we are be able to ping any computer on domain2 if we used
ping computer1.domain2.com. but if we use ping computer1 we are not
be able to reach it.
My question is; there are any way so we can ping just the computername
without specify the full qualify name. something like everytime that
you try to reach computer1 the dns foward all the request to
computer1.domain2.com

Two ways.
1. Configure a custom DNS suffix search list with domain1 and domain2 in the
list.
2. Since you have multiple sites and subnets, you already have or should
have WINS servers on both Networks, configure push/pull WINS replication to
suite your needs. What I mean by that is I support several networks all
using WINS, I have configured their WINS servers to push to mine and mine to
pull from theirs. You can also configure both as push/pull replication
partners if you need two-way access. Then on your zone, select the WINS tab
and enable WINS lookups and enter your WINS server address.
