Also just tried adding the cname and get the following
A New record can not be created
An Alias (cname) record can not be added to this DNS name. The DNS name
contains records that are incompatible with the CNAME record.
I am addingecx.images-amazon.com.edgesuite.net. into the FQDN field
Thanks again for the help

I have tried to add it to my dns server as an A record, but I still
can not resolve it. Obviously it should be getting it from the root
servers, just have no clue why it is not. Basically I can not see
any pictures on amazon, which is stored onecx.images-amazon.com.
Any ideas would be awesome. When I add a A record it adds a second
(com) folder if that makes any difference. I tried just adding
images-amazon.com, and I could ping that at least, but no images on
amazon.
ecx.images-amazon.com. is a CNAME that points to another CNAME, and it may
not be possible to add an A record and get consistent results because
sometimes the A records are dynamic and the IP addresses can change at any
time.
QUESTION SECTION:
ecx.images-amazon.com. IN A
ANSWER SECTION:
ecx.images-amazon.com. 59 IN CNAME
ecx.images-amazon.com.edgesuite.net.
ecx.images-amazon.com.edgesuite.net. 21599 IN CNAME
a1509.g.akamai.net.
a1509.g.akamai.net. 19 IN A 209.8.115.118
a1509.g.akamai.net. 19 IN A 209.8.115.111
How are you adding the A record?
The way you would add a record for this name is to create a zone named
ecx.images-amazon.com, and create a CNAME, leave the name field blank, and
enterecx.images-amazon.com.edgesuite.net. into the FQDN field.
I would not create the second CNAME because it would be very easy for that
record to change, in fact it would be just as easy for any of these to
change, but that's why Amazon uses CNAMES, they have subbed out the web
service.

Did you guys ever figure it out? I have the same issue loading Amazon
pages. If I use a Windows 2003 DNS I can't load the images but if I
use a Windows 2000 DNS it works. Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks, Julian
