In addition, the problem with the reverse zone is that the laptops are
probably registering themselves, and in that case the DHCP server cannot
remove the PTR because it doesn't have permission to remove records it did
not create. I've found the best solution is to disable DDNS on the client
and force DHCP to register for the laptops. In ADUC create a new OU for the
DHCP Clients and create a new GPO that disables DDNS on the DHCP clients.
Make sure you then have DHCP set to update clients that do not request
updates.

Please can I ask you to clarify your position on the comment above as
I am having a similar problem. Most of the recommendations I read seem
to suggest letting the client handle the DNS registration and turn off
the ability for DHCP to update DNS.

Look forward to your thoughts.
