I have some issues with reverse lookup zone I need resolution to.

First off my company does not seem to want to make reservations for
servers in DHCP. So when scavenging was turned on it went nuts on
those servers and we turned scavenging off.

We don't have dup problems with A records. Just reverse records. I
want to clean the reverse zone of all dups and set it so dups quit
recreating. We have a huge laptop environment and most come in
through a VPN. The other problem is DHCP lease time is set for 8
hours which I have told them is not right. 002 is set correct in
DHCP. So is 081 and as for as 015 is it asks for domain not scope. I
see where it is recomended to put in the name of the scope but we
have the domain there? Please help??

Option 015 is supposed to be the domain name, have you created a dedicated
username and entered the credentials on the Advanced tab of the DHCP server
properties ***?

In addition, the problem with the reverse zone is that the laptops are
probably registering themselves, and in that case the DHCP server cannot
remove the PTR because it doesn't have permission to remove records it did
not create. I've found the best solution is to disable DDNS on the client
and force DHCP to register for the laptops. In ADUC create a new OU for the
DHCP Clients and create a new GPO that disables DDNS on the DHCP clients.
Make sure you then have DHCP set to update clients that do not request
updates.
