DHCPed Linux boxes don't appear in DNS

Hi All,
I have a Windows 2003 AD Domain with DHCP and DNS running on the DC. No problems there.
But Linux (RHEL4) boxes that successfully get IP addresses from the DHCP server, with the lease showing the hostname do not appear in the DNS, neither forward nor reverse zones.
DHCPed Windows boxes do appear in both zones of the DNS.
I have added the
DHCP_HOSTNAME=computer.domain.com
line to the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 but it doesn't seem to have the effect that several RedHat articles seem to say it will. I also tried
DHCP_HOSTNAME="computer.domain.com"
which I saw in one article but that didn't help either.
I think I remember that it did work at one point. Is it possible that a recent HotFix to the DNS broke this ?
Is there anyway I can get my Linux boxes listed in my DNS, both Forward and Reverse Zones
Thanks,
Max
