need help using DNS instead of host files

We have a few 3rd party integrations that want entries written to host
files on each computer running the program. This would not be a
problem if a small subset of our computers were known to need these
entries. However, people float around and use different departmental
apps all the time.
I have been creating Primary DNS zones so that I could create all of
the Host file entries into a zone and control it from 1 place, have 1
master and all the computers use it. Especially now with a new
application (biz 2 biz VPN).
Kiausa.com is a public site, or accessible publicly anyways, some
hosts are private. This on involves a private domain, which is now
accessible to us because we have a b2b VPN. The newest VPN is to KIA,
we are a car dealer, and some traffic goes through the VPN, some does
not. I have all the routes in the firewalls done. So this is striclty
a DNS issue.
The only hosts that get resolved are the ones I made entires for. I
found a name server for kiausa.com by doing nslookups from online
sites. I thought I added a good name server for them 69.25.142.3 and
209.203.79.0.
Once in awhile, exchange email server times out trying to send a
message to one of these addresses.
Any help would be appreciated. We have 2 more b2b vpn's as well as a
split DNS for our web site to be accessible to internal employees
using the same names. We don't really need the split DNS, jsut our
recent firewall upgrade forced it. Our internal top level domain is
".LOCAL".
There are no huige problems, everything works most the time. Iam just
hoping somebody has done this better and could share.
(also, all 3 of the Forward Lookup Zones have 4 name servers....my 3
internal as well as the external ones I found for their respective
parties...kiausa.com for example)
