You are correct, I wasn't even considering this to be a routing issue, which
I should have and it definitely is. However, the article you posted
previously is for VPN client connections, if this is a VPN connection, the
article relates to your issue.
From your original post, it is not clear what type the connection is, but itreally does not matter, if it gets a default gateway, it's going to be an
issue. VPN connections, on the other hand, should have a way to override
getting this default route. At least the built-in VPN client from Microsoft
does.
