Hi,
I tested something called Tor yesterday. (Inter alia it also installs
software called Privoxy.) This on a development Win 2003 server.
After testing it I found that entries in the hosts file appeared to be
ignored.
I then uninstalled all the test components, expected to get back to
normal.
Unfortunately hosts still appears not to be "connected".
I've subsequently found that there are issues between Privoxy and
hosts. (But no details are how to reverse any problems.)
How do I check and re-instate the normal hosts file functionality?
When you run ipconfig /displaydns does it display the contents of the hosts
file?
(Run ipconfig /flushdns command first to make sure cached lookups are
cleared.
