Re: Win2K3 Servers de-registering from DNS

We are still running a Win2K Domain, DNS is running on all of our DCs.
However we do have anumber of Win2K3 servers in the domain and every
few days one or more of the Win2k3 servers will lose their DNS
registration. This is a big problem as one of these servers is
running ISA Server and at least once a week it disappeards from DNS,
and we have to manually add it again. Does anyone have any ideas or
com across this before?

Are they member servers, Domain Controllers, or standalone servers?
How is "register this connections addresses in DNS" configured on the DNS
tab?
Does the server have a Primary DNS suffix?
If not, does it have a Connection specific DNS suffix?

By default, Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 re-register their A and PTR
resource records every 24 hours regardless of the computer's role. To change
this time, add the DefaultRegistrationRefreshInterval registry key under the
following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\TcpIP\Services\Parameters
