Hello all
Unfortunately i have seen any Microsoft articles of
DND aging/scavenging that give answer to as follow scenario
I have AD integrated DNS those have 3 dns server,
should i to configure aging/scavenging only one server or
all of them or part of them ? (is that adeguate configure only one,
they clean same database)
On the SAME zone, one is enough for AD integration since the
changes to the zone get propagated.
Unless you want them to all do their own scavenging. The key
for this part is that every SERVER (not just the zone and one
server) must be set to scavenge.
ONLY "Zones" are AD Integrated (not servers.)
Next question is.. if i have dns that have 6 zones,
i set up aging/scavenging in server setting (example values 7days / 7days)
Servers only have SCAVENGING PERIOD (how often the scavenger
process runs.)
i set up one zone level aging/scavenging (6days / 6days)
does that work like 5 zones inherite server aging/scaneging settings
(7d/7d)
and one get zone setting (6d/6d)
The above makes no sense (as a question). You must set the server
and each zone to be scavenged.
Zone settings require BOTH: NoRefreshInterval and RefreshInterval
But the GUI is (practically) self-explanatory as long as you realize that
BOTH the server and the zone must enable scavenging to get the job
done.
Thanks for advices
