DNS over hardware VPN

I have 2 linksys DEFVP41 VPN Routers with a connected VPN Tunnel. On
one end is the Server 2003 for small business, on the other end, 4
computers connected to the
router. The VPN tunnel is active but the computers and the SBS are
still not communicating 100%.
The users can now login successfully. So it is clear that the computers
are able to reach the domain controller and check users/passwords. But
connectivity still isn't 100%. For instance, the computers can't ping
bgcsmadmin.bgcsm.local (the SBS), but they can ping it's IP address
172.2.5.56. Also, the user's documents do not appear in 'My
Documents'.
Even more confusing, when i ping the remote computers from the server
with their names (UNIT-09-4.bgcsm.local), the server says 'sending ping
to ==computername== [computer_ip_address]. Then it fails to reach the
remote computer. The interesting part is when I ping the remote
computer from the server, the ip address it pings is correct. So
somehow the server knows the computers IP address but can't ping it.
Thank you in advance for the help!
