How can the microsoft domain be unreachable from my PC ?

This is quite puzzling.
Running Windows 2003 Server, ( latest beta of SP2 ).
The issue is not SP2-related since, for a good while,
everything worked fine after the SP2 beta was applied.
I can browse all of the Internet except *.microsoft.com
I can't see msdn.microsoft.com, nor connect.microsoft.com, forums.microsoft.com,
nor *any* site in the microsoft.com hierarchy, including mvp.support.microsoft.com.
That includes both the private and the public nntp servers,
privatenews.microsoft.com and msnews.microsoft.com.
If I use an IP address, I can see the servers.
That's why I can post here; I switched the public server news account from name to IP.
I cannot ping msdn.microsoft.com or connect.microsoft.com or any *.microsoft.com domain name.
I get a "cannot find host" message.
Ad-Aware, Search and Destroy, Avira AntiVir and Windows Defender say everything's OK.
I tested Windows Firewall ( by turning it off ) and that's not the problem.
What client or server setting could possibly impede access to the *.microsoft domain ?
DNS client ? Browser setting ? *Any* other client or server setting ?
My ISP says that it's not a DNS problem on their side.
I do have the W2K3 DNS service running, although I haven't made any changes to it in ages.
Any idea as to what I can do to resolve this ?
Thanks!
