Hi...
I just have a new domain ... like this :
exam :
domain : kampus2.ac.id
IP Public : 202.130.5.10
DNS Server : ns1.telkom.net.id
ns3.telkom.net.id
my router gateway : 202.130.5.8
I use ADSL Connection...
I can surfing...to anywhere...there's no problem ...
my question :
I can ping my router ip ( 202.130.5.8 ) from internet....
but when i ping my ip public ( 202.130.5.10 ) or http://www.kammpus2.ac.id
,
it doesn't work...
is it possible to build web server on ADSL Connection ?
Not if ping fails UNLESS the ping failure is merely a firewall
FILTER issue.
Technically, I should say "not if you cannot route"; pinging is
used to prove that routing is working.
Where did you get that address "202.130.5.10"?
If assigned by the ISP it would need to be given to THE ROUTER
(a NAT or network address translating router that is) since it MUST
be on the same subnet as 202.130.5.8.)
OR you would need to physically move the machine onto the net
where the Router uses 202.130.5.8.
