Re: Windows 2003 server, append DNS search suffix? Max entries.

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi
I think only in Advanced TCP/IP Settings DNS there is no limit to the
number of entries, in DHCP 50 Is by design.

Hi,

Wondering if anyone knows the answer to this while I wait for Microsoft
to get back to me.

I have a large Domain (50 child domains at present soon to be 65) and I
spoke to Microsoft about an exchange problem early this year and they
told me to use the DNS search suffix and place all the child domain
entries in there (this did fix my Exchange problem)

Now as I have hit 50 dns search suffix's the add button has become
greyed out, if I take one out I get my add button back!!

Does anyone know a way if increasing this limit?

I was not entirely convinced it was the right thing to do from
Microsoft at the time but it did fix my problem so all well and good.

hope you can help?

Thanks
Col
