Yes, the DC-DNS-ADI02 is on the same domain and zone. Win2003 SP1.
The part that I can't remember how I did before:
After the junior admin DCPROMO DC-DNS-ADI02 to make it a DC, I went to the
DC-DNS-ADI02 server and the "DNS administration tool" was not installed.
Then I went to add/remove programs and I installed it.
Now if I launch the "DNS" application, I see all the zones OK for the
original DC-DNS-ADI01, but they are not showing up for DC-DNS-ADI02. What do
I need to do in order to have those zones visible there ? That's the part
that I can't get it. Shouldn't they be there since the info is already
stored in AD ? What do I need to do to retrieve the DNS info from
DC-DNS-ADI01 and make it 'visible' on the DC-DNS-ADI02 as well ?
I have the option to right click "DC-DNS-ADI02" , do "Configure DNS Server";
however it is not clear to me which option I should pick.

I have an existing DC-DNS-ADI01 server on the network, it which

a secondary zone "myinternaldomain.company.com".
Imagine someone installed a second domain controller on the network
named DC-DNS-ADI02.
What would be the best way to make this DC-DNS-ADI02 contain the same
DNS info than DC-DNS-ADI01 ? I already installed the DNS snap-in on
the new DC, and I see the option to create the primary zones again.
However, since I already have all that DNS info that it is housed in
AD, do I really need to configure the DC-DNS-ADI02 Forward lookup
zones all over again ? I just forgot this detail.
Are these two DCs Win2k or Win2k3 and are they in the same domain (Win2k),
or Domain and/or Forest (Win2k3)?
If the second DC is an additional DC for the AD domain, all you need is
for
the original DC to have zones stored in Active Directory. Zones stored in
Active Directory will be replicated to all Domain Controllers within the
original DC's replication scope.
If however, the second DC is not in the original DC's domain or forest(if
Win2k3), the zones will not replicate across forest boundaries, if this is
the case each DC, should have Conditional forwarders or Stub zones for
domain hosted on the other DC (If all DCs are Win2k3) If the DCs are all
Win2k, you'll have to use secondary zones.
