Can anyone tell me if there is a reason why ican connect to my ftp site
some
times and some times i can't, after i added a record on my ftp.mysite.com
zone
Most likely is that you are using multiple DNS
servers that are either not replicated (when they
should be) OR which are from two different 'sets'
(e.g., internal vs. external).
Your internal DNS client must use STRICTLY
your internal DNS server set if you have such,
and it is the job of that internal DNS server (set)
to find the external names.
Are you using a Shadow DNS (aka Split DNS)
configuration with the two versions of the same
zone? If so, you must manually duplicate all
external records (which you wish internal users
to reach) on the internal version of the zone.
Post your "IPConfig /all" results (text only, unedited,
no graphics please) and tell us about your DNS server
and zones configuration.
