Re: numerous run-time events

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

In news:%23VT5PA%23UGHA.5852@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,
Antti <ab@xxxxx> typed:
We have a member server as our secondary DNS server. Transfers from
the primary work just fine, but for some reason there are plenty of
those, twenty or so in a day, and we have only 50+
WinXP-workstations. The server's TCP/IP props: DC as preferred and
itself as the alternate. Sometimes event 3000 is logged: "The DNS
server has encountered numerous run-time events." Well, we haven't
experienced any problems because of this. Is Windows overly sensitive
about the number of events, or is there something wrong with the
configuration? Both servers are W2k3SP1.

Just from the information you have given, are the 3000 event gets logged at
the time the log is getting several zone transfer events?
You may even see some 9999 events, but these and the 3000 event can be
expected if you have several zone transfers happening simultaneously.
To tell you if there is a real problem I would have to know what events are
triggering the 3000 events.
