In news:5977D23A-175E-4B04-A163-A98EE2F63978@xxxxxxxxxxxxx,
kde <kde@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> stated, which I commented on below:
Hi Ace,
None of the suggestions at these sites helped, I removed the Symantec
AV from the notebook, changed the timeout parameter in lanmanserver
(HKLM\system\currentcontrolset\services\lanmanserver\parameters).
The only difference I found here was in the
'resquiresecuritysignature' key, on the win2000 server is set to '0'
on win2003 server set to '1' .
I have also done some testing and choosing to repair the wireless
connection seems to cure this condition and the mapped drives do not
disconnect, the behaviour of the repair function is this;
disables wireless connection
activates connection
looks for wireless network
renews ip address
clears arp cache
clears NetBT
clears DNS
reloads DNS
Then sync takes place and the mapped drives stay connected. If you
shutdown or restart the system you need to run the repair utility
again?!?
When the mapped drives are disconnected I can still ping both servers
by FQDN and IP? It's a work round but not ideal are you able to shed
any more light on this Ace?
All machines (servers, workstations and notebooks) on our LAN are
Dell, the wireless card is an onboard Intel ® Pro/Wireless 2200GB
Netw, Driver 21/10/2004 9.0.0.61 ACL

Try the workaround listed in this article:
811497 - Error Message When Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0 Client Logs On to
Windows Server 2003 Domain:
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=811497
Also, if IPSec is enabled in Win2003, disable it.
