Re: choosey server

You've given us very few details to go on. I think the answer is probably
b/c all of your clients are pointing at an external (ISP) DNS server (or a
router/firewall running DNS services) neither of which know anything about
your domain name.

We need more details on your setup. Can you please provide the following
information:

1) Active Directory Domain name (from Active Directory Users & Computers
MMC)
2) DNS Forward Lookup Zones (from DNS MMC - list all zones under 'Forward
Lookup Zones)
3) IPCONFIG /all output from a problem machine and from a good machine (an
unedited version - please do not make any changes)

I have 10 users in the office.

The 5 users that are in the new domain I created do not seem to have DNS
working. They can ping an address but not a domain name.

The 5 users that are not in the domain are using the same exact DNS server
just fine.

Why would the 5 that are *in* the domain have a problem?? thanks

.
