Re: Newbie DNS / Reverse DNS

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Hi S,

Thanks for the response. I have set up a reverse lookup on my domain for
the ip.

the nslookup output:

Default Server: rrba-dns2.saix.net
Address: 196.43.1.11

> ns1.nodenet.co.za
Server: rrba-dns2.saix.net
Address: 196.43.1.11

DNS request timed out.
timeout was 2 seconds.

*** Request to rrba-dns2.saix.net timed-out

Even using my ISPs name server, I still get the previous IP (I moved my
primary during the week to a new ISP and added another server for my own
secondary).

Maybe I am missing something, but how will the DNS entries propogate through
the internet from my name servers?

Or should I just wait. I must admit, these changes were only made about 14
hours ago. Except the reverse lookup... about 1 hour ago.

Regards,
Eben
