Well, "zombie"ing, whatever that means doesn't have
much to do with DNS or even AD and logon requests.

You may, but don't count on it if you don't get a response
since old threads will eventually be deleted from my
news storage -- on the other hand if it is still here, the
group turns "red" when a new message is added since I
am "watching" it.
It would be odd if there is anything tricky about SP1
for that specific machine -- although occasionally a
BIOS update is required before loading a new version.
