DNS w2k Server & Remote User XP

Hi NG,

I am wondering about some strange behaviour with XP clients, connecting via a vpn connection to a W2k Server.

I allways get an error 'a security problem was detected...blahblah), when trying to connect to a network share, using an external DNS-Server. (eg. the DNS provided by the ISP-dialup-connection)
(...and of course, i put the server name and ip into the hosts-file, since the external dns will not be able to resolve the internal server-name)

When I change the DNS-server configuration of the remote xp clients to one of the internal W2k-based AD-DNS-server, the connect works fine....

Any idea, why this happens?

Thanks for your help

Stefan....
