You have found the problem. DCs are themselves DNS
clients and should follow the same rule:
Internal DNS clients must use ONLY internal DNS servers.
(It can be more than one DNS server, but they must all return
the same answers which are correct for internal computers.)

It should do that anyway. It will do that when you fix it...
Since the DC was not set to the proper DNS it probably didn't
register itself.
You must NOT start manually adding CNAME (etc.)
for that name (abc.com) to the internal DNS server zone.
Follow the steps/procedures/articles I gave you for
repairing the DC registration in DNS.
