Gurus,
Please forgive this probably horribly basic question, or the newb-ness of it.
Ours is an organization with about 100 users. I have a Win2k machine that
has been here the longest, and is the domain controller. I added a new Server
2003 machine, running Exchange, to the network about 4 months ago. 3 weeks
ago I replaced an old NT machine with a server running Server 2003, and
configured it as a domain controller as well. They are all in seperate
buildings, and one of their functions is to provide off-site backups for the
other two.
My question/problem is, I'm pretty shakey on DNS, and am not sure that I
have it configured correctly. Everything in my network *works*, but Exchange
has been throwing errors, and they all at one level or another reflect faulty
or poor DNS connectivity. I've just discovered this newsgroup, and according
to what I've read, I've discovered that one thing I'm doing wrong is setting
one of the DNS addresses on the servers to the ISP's Dns.
Is there a basic configuration that someone would reccomend, or some links
to information that would assist me?
Thanks for your time.
