Not being able to ping company.com is of course just stating there is not
blank record created for company.com. Unless of course (I am assuming) your
'public' Ip address of this thing is actually your WAN IP address of your
router/NAT/firewall device?
I guess I need to ask, assuming your LCS server is an internal machine, did
you create a company.com zone and create a blank record giving it the
internal private Ip address (not the public address and once again, I am
assuming the 'public' address is your WAN address)?
Some more questions for you so I can understand your topology...
Where did you create the SRV record?
Under compay.local or company.com?
What server is hosting company.com?
Is that your external name?
What server is hosting company.local?
Are they both on the same server?
What DNS addresses are you using in your IP properties?
