Hi all...
I have the following problematic.
1.- I have register the domain XYZ.COM at NIC.COM
2.- I have configured NIC.COM to forward queries to NS0.XXX.COM and
NS1.XXX.COM
3.- I have configured the XYZ.COM zone at that DNS server. I have added in
that several A record, for example, WWW, NEWS, MAIL, etc.
4.- All work perfect. I used that scheme because I had dynamic IP assigned
by my ISP so it was easier to update the A records in the DNS server.
5.- While I had dynamic IP I installed Windows Server 2003, with DNS and
Active Directory, among other services. When I configured the DNS, I had to
use CORP as the domain name (just to choose one name). in that case, the
FQDN was: CORP.XYZ.COM and all client computers connected to CORP domain.
All OK.
6.- Now I have semi static IP, that is, it's an IP that is kept when I
reconnect all the times, but it's renew rarely, so I want to maintain the
current DNS server, but all the A records to be maintained in my DNS server.
In the current DNS server (NS0.XXX.COM), I have configured an NS record
pointing to my DNS server. Here I used the wizard to add the zone XYZ.COM
and I added only the WWW A record.
7.- I run: PING WWW.XYZ.COM and the name cannot be resolved :-(
What is the problem with my configuration? can the zone XYZ.COM exist in two
DNS servers? maybe that is the problem.
Thanks a lot in advance
Jaime
