For the last couple of hours, I have checked many sources for these error messages, including the KB, Google, some books, etc. But nothing seems to have the correct message.

I am getting the following response after running NETDIAG /test:dns /v /l

===================================
+------------------------------------------------------+
The record on your DC is:
DNS NAME = alphasys2000.local.
DNS DATA =
            A 80.219.103.zzz

The record on DNS server 192.168.1.1 is:
DNS NAME = alphasys2000.local
DNS DATA =
            A 192.168.1.1
            A 80.219.103.zzz
+------------------------------------------------------+

The Record is different on DNS server '192.168.1.1'.
DNS server has more than one entries for this name, usually this means there are
 multiple DCs for this domain.
Your DC entry is one of them on DNS server '192.168.1.1', no need to re-register
=====================================

The server is a W2K3 DC, with DNS and DHCP, and Internet Connection Sharing active. Access to the Internet from a W2K Pro machine is working fine, as is access from the DC itself.

The DC as two net connections; one a cable modem using DHCP which acquires the 80.219.. address, and the internal network card using a fixed address of 192.168.1.1. The W2KPro machine uses DHCP to get a reserved address of 192.168.1.11. All works fine. I get access from my W2KPro machine to email, newsgroups (where I am writing this msg), Internet, etc. Everything is good.

But while checking the server, I get a very large number of errors when checking DNS. So here is the first set of errors. Whose solution I hope, will clear the others up. The message seems to say i have one piece of data (a server address) in one area biut not in another, so there is a descrepency.

The W2K3 server forwards to a list of DNS servers that the ISP delievers via DHCP. I just added to the Forwards tab. However, it appears that the DNS server thinks it should have this address in the zone area and maintain it. Hmmmm... not sure.

This is my first W2K3 server with this Internet connection, so I'm a little lost. I've got a pretty good handle on networking and systems, so if someone can point out a few thinks to change or check, please let me know.

with many thanks,

Always try the MS KB first before posting.
MS KB: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-US;KBHOWTO
And the answer could have already been posted, so try searching this and other newsgroups first.
