Hello,
I've bought a domain from a registrar and Internet broadband access and
static IP address from my local ISP.
My site is accessible via IP, but then I asked the ISP to link my domain to
the IP address and entered my ISP's DNS servers in my Registrar Account
Manager. They told me that I should pay for providing services of "primary
and secondary zones".
Question:
Is it technically possible to set up my Windows 2003 Server (having only
static IP address) to server as both DNS server and HTTP Server and enter DNS
information (names of primary and secondary name servers) in Registrar
Account Manager ?
P.S. I know that both DNS server and IIS exist in 2003, I just want to know
from your experience is it technically possible to do the thing I want
(preferrably without third-party applications). I need this to provide higher
level of service availability for my customers in case of ISP change.
Yours sincerely,
Kostyantyn
