Andrew, I have a question, not totally understanding your response to this,
if ok with you.

Are you saying you rather use the same name domain rather than a different
name, even with the TLD being different? Are you also saying that if the
name were a different TLD, that it will effect Exchange?

I actually subscribe to not having the same name due to the addition
adminstrative overhead if the AD and outside name were the same. Additional
overhead I'm referring to in terms of outside resource access, including the
LdapIpAddress, which some folks like to use to access their websites with,
which requires registry entries to modify, but *will* affect GPO and DFS
functionality. But in doing so (choosing a different name or just the TLD),
have I ever come across any issues with Exchange 2k/2k3 in this manner. I
myself host an Exchange server with 25 domain names, none of which are the
same as the AD name its running under.
