Current environment is the following:
Two DC's, both running Windows 2003. One was a new install, the second was
upgraded from Windows 2000. At the time of the upgrade, I dcpromo'd the W2k
machine to take AD off, ran the upgrade and dcpromo'd to make it a DC again.
Serv1 is the upgraded server, Serv2 is the onbe that was installed new.
Domain functional level is Windows 2000 native, Dns is Ad integrated.
In the tcpip properties, Serv1 has Serv2 as it's preferred dns server,
itself as the secondary.
Serv2 has Serv1 as it's preferred, itself as secondary.
AD and FRS seem to be working and replicating fine, no errors in the
directory service or frs event logs.
Every day, though, I get 6702 errors in the dns logs on both servers. MS
explanation says that there is a problem with the A records for the
replication partners. I've gone through all the steps suggested, and the A
records are in dns for both servers on both servers.
I can't tell if this is a valid error or not, the update sequence numbers on
both dns servers are staying synched, and as far as I can tell, both servers
seem to be working fine.
Has anyone experience of this ?
Thanks
