Is there a way to initiate zone transfers manually from the master DNS
server in Windows? We don't have full access to the slave except through a
control panel. Let me tell you why I ask.
We have a sever that is allowed to use our providers two DNS servers as
slave. Basically you go into their control panel add a domain, select slave
and enter your DNS servers IP address. We are running a Windows 2003 server
with our own nameservers, we also added their nameservers on each DNS entry
and have zone transferred enabled and only to servers listed on the
nameservers tab. So basically we have four nameservers entered ours and
theirs.
We added about 140 slave entries, but in the server events log it only
showed two of them that transferred. I have deleted and re-added some just
to check, but still nothing.
Any ideas as to what is going on?
Thanks in advance
