As I read the initial part of your posting, you have set up
and SBS2k3, allowing pre-existing router DHCP to still
deliver IPs (appropriate for the static IP given to the internal
interface of the SBS DC) and you have overriden the DHCP
delivered DNS setting with that of the SBS server.
You did this after joining the workstations into the domain
using the SBS \\server\connectcomputer capability.

This is all good. But you have one machine that is a
problem child. Next, you have said and I get lost with

?? well, that sounds a likely candidate, as you are having
problems getting out to where you need on the network
with this machine
That the machine cannot find http:\\companyweb may mean
that it cannot use NetBIOS base resolution (NetBios disable
of bound to wrong interface, for example), or that the machine
cannot resolve this using DNS as it does not have its primary
DNS suffix set correctly (the automated join set it, but did
something change it afterwards?), or that the settings in the
Tcp/Ip properties are not allowing it to use the default domain
names to append when querying DNS, - or - that something
else is toasted such as with this redirect you mention.

So this problem child machine has multiple network interfaces ?
Try disabling all but the interface on the 192.168.1.x network,
and check that the one left enable does have the MS networking
client and file and print sharing bound to it. This is all in the
r-click properties of the interface connection in the network
places.

not sure what it is
