I have installed a new server with sbs2003 into a prior
workgroup system. The system had a dsl router with dhcp
which I left intact. My server has two nic's one with a
static address for the intranet and one dynamic from the
router to the internet. All of the work stations except
one is working. I have one that when you go to ie6 and
want it to come up to the http:\\companyweb page it comes
up with unable to locate page and at the bottom it says
dns error or server un reachable. I can type in any
other address and reach it on the interner. I am able to
log users on with a roaming profile from this work
station. In the network settings for the work station, I
have a dynamic ip address with an assigned dns the same
as the other work stations. I am using 192.168.1.11 for
dns and the server local network address. the work
station has a dynamic with the dns assigned as
192.168.1.11. The router is 192.168.1.1 I used the
\\server\connectcomputer command for the work station.
I have also removed some software I found in it called my
way which appeared to redirect requests. I am very open
to suggestions as to what I can do. Could it have
something to do with the additional interner connection
sharing that is on the computer, and if so how do I
remove it. Sorry to ramble, just thought the more info
the easier it might be for someone to direct me to the
answar.
neeting help,
rj
