The only thing I can think of is that if DNS loses its network connection,
it falls asleep until you enable or fix the connection, and restart the DNS
service.
Really, I would suggest to post this to the Virtual PC newsgroup. A better
suggestion is to ask your Virtual Server Beta Program contact for support. I
believe you have an error reporting protocol in place for your beta copy?
