: OK - I did that (wkstn DNS to .1.2).
: On the server I have 2 fwd lookup zones (don't know why - someone else,
now
: not here, set it up).
: 1) example.infosearch.com with two entries (both say "same as parent
: folder")
: 2) infosearch.com with same two entries as (1) plus entries for each
: wkstation in the network including the server. When I check the
properties
: of each of these entries, they contain the IPs for each wkstation (I don't
: use DHCP) and I checked 'Update Assoc PTR record' then saved it.
:
: When I try to get my email on wkstation again, I get the same error ...
:
: Task 'sydney@infosearch.com - Receiving' reported error (0x80040900) :
'The
: server name you entered can not be found on the network (it might be down
: temporarily). Please verify that you are online and that the server name
is
: correct.'
:
: Help!
Is the email hosted on this network or somewhere else? If not on this
network, make sure there is no root entry in the forward lookup. If on this
network, then where is the MX record pointing to? First, as someone stated,
you need to have only one forward lookup for this subnet.
