I posted a response to this in the win2000.dns newsgroup as well with a
possible solution to get the service back without reinstalling or repairing.
But a repair, as Roger pointed out, will probably be the way you need to do
it incase my method doesn't help.
It would have been to your benefit if YOU were to have cross-posted your
post instead of mutli-posting it. It would have made it alot easier on
yourself to get all the feedback and responses by just checking one
newsgroup instead of mutliple newsgroups. It would also have lent to
collaboration among us for better response. In addition, it would also have
lent to saving bandwidth, as some will complain about, when they have to
download the same message mutlple times from mutliple newsgroups, if they're
on a dialup line.
