If you wish to continue using the first method, yes.

What "name" are you thinking of changing ? (Hint: Where is that "name" stored ?)

No. You could use the second method, which wouldn't exactly be an alias
but would reduce the number of entities that have to track any changes
made to the IP address used by your web hosting service.
