Summary: A dual-homed 2003 machine registers both NIC
addresses in its primary zone even when an interface-
specific suffix is entered in the second interface.
Details:
* One zone, e.g.: production.domain.com
* One subdomain, e.g.: backup.production.domain.com
* Two networks: e.g.: 10.1.1.0/24, 192.168.0.0/24
* 10.x net equates to production, 192.168 net equates to
backup
* 2003 DNS server
* 2003 host with 2 statically-mapped interfaces, one
interface connected to each network
* 2003 host interface connected to 192.168.0.0/24 network
is set to register in DDNS ** using its connection-
specific suffix **
Result:
* host.production.domain.com is dynamically registered
with BOTH interface addresses (two A records, one 10.x,
one 192.168)
What's up with that?
