: I do already do full backups of my system.

: data is current. Are there a few files that I would need
: to select - maybe the whole windows folder?

DNS is not relevant, backing up AD DNS is like backing up your telephone
book. DNS is dynamic and its records are created by the current names and
addresses of the machines using it.
restoring last weeks DNS database is like restoring last years telephone
book.
You get a new telephone book because numbers and addresses change, the same
goes for AD DNS records. There is no need to back it up because you can
delete it and recreate it in a few clicks of the mouse. If you do a system
backup you won't need a DNS backup, you would not want one. Keep this in
mind, the records that are in DNS are only a snapshot in time, five minutes
from now machines IP addresses may have changed.
