Starwind people also have synchronous / asynchronous replication. I
think it makes sense to stick
with ONE vendor if it had provided all the features (Windows 2008
cluster, Geo Cluster & replication
thing) at appropriate level. Going for a bunch of vendors never even
heard about each other will
definitely lead to frustration at some point :)

Another option is to use a host based replication solution that integrates
with WSFC to replace the tradition shared Physical Disk resource with a
replicated disk resource. This option eliminates the need for a shared
storage device and also gives you the ability to locate your nodes in
different geographic locations if you like.
Here is a video which demonstrates one of the solutions, SteelEye DataKeeper
Cluster Edition, being used to cluster SQL 2008 running on Hyper-V VMs.

Hi guys,
I need to setup a test environment and configure failover cluster on
win 2008. I have 2 servers with local storage, ide channels, and
ovbviously this doesnt work.
If I was to buy 2 servers with locally attached SCSI disks, will that
work, or does it HAVE to be shared storage?
