Ahmed,

How many print queues are you talking about? How long is a "long time"? When
you say "to go offline" are you talking about moving from one node to the
next, or are you actually turning off the cluster resources?

I know with Clustered Print Servers there can be a significant delay when
failing over as the drivers are compared between what's on the local drive
of the passive node and what's on the shared drive. There is a whole
sequence of steps that have to occur before the resources go off line and
then come back on line. The existing print queues have to acknowledge the
shutdown command and then finish processing any jobs that might be running.

Take a look at this white paper, starting on page 27 is a very good
description of the failover process, you'll see that default values of 160
seconds are used in certain steps.

Good Day

Can anyone help how to figure out why my cluster print resource group
take a very long time to go offline given that it is running on
windows 2003 cluster with service pack 2 applied

Thanks
