I duplicated the partitions in Virtual Server and as Jeff indicated only the
physical drives are presented and controlled by the cluster. Both partitions
are available on the active nodes, and will fail over together. Not sure I'd
use this approach for a production server however, I think I'd present a
second physical drive.

1) No, you didn't miss anything, Node1 is the active node and has the
resources in it.
2) It sounds like you only have 1 disk presented to the cluster with 2
partitions, on Node 1 can you see the partition? If not go into Computer
Management and then Disk Management and see if you see the 2nd partition.
If you see it there, you may need to initialize it and format and assign a
drive letter. I've never tried to set one up like this and to be honestnot
sure what will happen once you get it initilaized. Gonna go play with this
in Virtual Server and see what happens.

Hello.
Just created a two node cluster. This is purposed for file and print
services. Everything is online and working. I have one GROUP called the
CLUSTER GROUP and it all looks healthy.
A couple of questions...
1) NODE1 has three folders ACTIVE GROUPS, ACTIVE RESOURCES, and NETWORK
INTERFACES. NODE2 has the same thing but NODE1 has records in each of
the
two folders, but NODE2 does not. DID I MISS SOMETHING?
2) In trying to set up a Virtual Print Server, I go through all of the
steps
but when it is time to create the PHYSICAL DISK resource...on the DISK
PARAMETERS screen--nothing appears in the drop down for the DISK. So I
can't
pick one and finish.
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO GET PAST THIS?
My shared storage is a MP SCSI MSA device with a bunch of hot swap/hot
change disks in a RAID5 configuration. There are backup servers,
controllers, fans, powersupplies, etc. It is one array with one volume
and
two partitions...one for QUORUM and one for DATA.
I would like to use this array for all disk resources-even if it is not
"recommended"--I know it adds some risk, but I am willing to take
it-versus
buying more $900 disks.
Would one of the gurus out there provide me with some direction? I need
to
get this cluster printing (file sharing works great!) and then I can move
on.
My ideal situation would be to use my existing array for virutal print
spooler group, IP address, network name, and physical disk. Can I just
create a PRINT SPOOLER resource in the CLUSTER GROUP?
Thanks in advance!
