Re: Which SCSI HDD to use for Clustering for 2 node in win 3003 en

its only 2 node in cluster so MNS will not be redundant if 1 fail cluster
fails.. so MNS will work if more then 2 node in cluster...

if i use DFS then iam not utiliziing my resource fully... i have 8 bay on
each server each has 8 1 TB HDD 2 is mirror for OS and 6 are RAID for DATA...
if i DFS i have to keep data on diff server then this 6 hdd RAID is not in
use.. so thats why i am thinking to use some sort of replication if you have
better idea please let me know..

struggiling.. with this i dont know how to tackle this and project need to
be done in next wek without enough resource...

If you intend to use replication for the data, why not use an MNS cluster
with a file share witness? You won't need a shared quorum that way.

If this is intended to be a file server, you could cluster a DFS root, and
have redundant entries for the leaves.

Hi thanks for reply...

once i make cluster using external SCSI for quorum and keep data on both
nodes using some sort of replication which is a network share P:\ and if
active server fails will second node work as desired since it has same p:\
and ip and network name...?

i have cheked some external scsi enclousers... found some but hard to
decide.. if you have any idea of specific which will support windows
clustering in 2003 server will be very helpful...

thanks

The old fashioned way was to put a scsi disk in an external enclosure and
use two "Y" cables with external terminators.
