Re: Migrated (SAN_Copy) LUNs to new SAN, now we see too many disks

If I have a similar situation involving Windows 2003 R2 Enterprise X64 and
need to do some LUN re-creations, is there a version of dumpcfg.exe that can
be used on the X64 bit platform? When I run the 32bit version it seems to be
incompatible.

Mike,

Those unreadable LUNs are probably "LUNZ" devices (I'm assuming Clariion
storage since you referenced EMC's SANCopy). If you present LUNs to a host
without using a LUN value of zero, it can cause this to occur. If you wish
to get rid of these LUNs, I would recommend contacting EMC support if you
haven't already to address this. FYI, this is unlikely to be related to your
disk signature issue.

If at any time, you presented both the source and target storage arrays to
the same host, this would likely cause a signature to change on one of the
copies. You can delete and re-add the resources in cluster, or you could
modify the disk's signature to match what cluster is looking for. You can
use dumpcfg to manipulate disk's signatures.

John

I have used SAN_Copy to copy 3 LUNS belonging to a 2-node MS cluster
(2 data and the Quorum) to a new SAN. After I attached the cluster
nodes to the new SAN, I see my 3 drives, but I also see 2 "extra"
drives listed as unknown / unreadable. I am now trying to delete the
physical disk cluster resource and recreate them. One worked
perfectly, but for the other I am getting a "signature does not match"
type error.

Diskpart shows ....
